How to enable call waiting on Android

call-waiting android
Even though I imagine myself as fairly knowledgeable about smartphones, I admit I had no idea how call waiting works until a few weeks back. The simple feature that lets you hear notifications (and answer the second call) in case someone is calling you while you’re already on a call. All this without disconnecting either of the calls. The feature has been around for many years now and isn’t exactly something that Samsung or Apple put in their phones recently. This nifty feature is a must have, trust me.
For those of you who are still in the dark about this simple piece of technology, follow this step by step approach below to enable the feature on your Android device.
Step 1:
Go to your phone’s dialer. This is fairly simple and shouldn’t need any more instructions.
Step 2:
Once inside tap on the three vertical dots in the action bar on the top right of your screen and select settings.

Step 4:
Withing calls, tap on additional settings. Once you tap on it, you’ll get a reading settings pop up message on your screen. Wait for it to go.

Step 4:
Enable call forwarding in the additional settings (just tick the checkbox) and you’re done. Congratulations! You’ve just made your life a bit more easy.

Note: Some users might find themselves unable to check call forwarding in step 4. In that case, check if the service is enabled by your service provider. For instance, Vodafone users across the globe can activate it by dialling *43# from their phone. Once done, just follow steps 1-4 to ensure it is up and running.
Also note, that you can only manage 2 calls at a time using call waiting. Oh, and it’s free of course (unless you have some rare draconian plan).
